Presented by Chapman Adjunct Faculty, Adam Furtado, MA, LMFT

This presentation will focus upon increasing the participants' understanding of the LGBTQ population, including information and considerations integral to the provision of psychotherapy with clients who identify as LGBTQ.  This will include increasing participants' sensitivity and awareness of the issues pertinent to this unique and diverse community.  Additionally, the concept of affirmative treatment approaches will be addressed, allowing participants to not just understand their clients, but to ensure that clients feel safe and comfortable within the therapy process, so that a strong therapeutic relationship and successful treatment results may be achieved.
