Prior to the concert, join us for a panel conversation with key arts leaders about "Modernizing Music Relevance of Arts Education in the 21st Century." This engaging conversation will be moderated by Gail Eichenthal, Chief Engagement Officer, KUSC and KDFC, and panelists include: John Mangum, President, Philharmonic Society of Orange County; Daniele Struppa, President Chapman University; and Grant Gershon, Artistic Director, Los Angeles Master Chorale.
7:00 pm Awakening Concert
This collaborative concert begins with OCSA's Frederick Fennell Wind Ensemble presenting a world-premiere commission by alumni composer Katya Richardson. The Symphony Orchestra continues with violinist Sean Lee, OCSA alumni and protégé of Itzhak Perlman at Juilliard, and internationally acclaimed dramatic soprano, Deborah Voigt. The evening concludes with Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. This spectacular choral-orchestra will feature the orchestra, choirs, soloists and dancers, conducted by Grant Gershon, Music Director of the LA Master Chorale and choreographed by Jodie Gates, Vice Dean of the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance.
All seats designated as "Wheelchair Accessible" are spaces for patrons that require the use of a wheelchair. There is no physical seat in that space. Do not purchase unless you require the accommodations of that space.
