Arpita Lal, Ph.D, LMFT will present:  Families Coping with Chronic Illness - Assessment and Intervention

Chronic and serious physical illnesses have a profound impact not only on the patient, but on the family as a whole.  As a result, there has been a growing interest in family-centered, collaborative, biopsychosocial models of care by health and mental health professionals and consumers.  This presentation will focus on assessment and intervention strategies for working with families managing chronic health problems.  Populations that will receive special attention will include individuals and families coping with cerebral palsy, stroke or cancer.
