Adam Dodge, Esq, of Laura's House will present:  Legalities of Domestic Violence

Orange County is the 6th largest county by population in the United States and over 5,000 domestic violence restraining orders are filed each year, often in conjuction with a family law proceeding.  It is beneficial to understand the restraining order process and courtroom experience in order to relate to clients in a meaningful way.  We will cover how mental health professionals can learn practical and impactful ways to provide value to their clients who are seeking restraining orders or other court orders.  Staying current on emerging issues in domestic violence will help to spot issues and allow you to be prepared to address them when presented.  The legal process doesn't need to be a foreign construct and empowering clients to navigate this process successfully can have huge benefits.
