Musco Center and Backhausdance Present
The Elasticity of the Almost & New Works
Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 7:30 pm
Ferociously moving among a shifting sea of red balls, The Elasticity of the Almost creates worlds of athletic, fluid, contemporary movement artfully crafted and infused with a sense of humor and theatricality. This piece and two other incredible works highlight an evening of powerful dance by Orange County’s own Jennifer Backhaus and her company.
BEYOND THE NOISE
World Premiere from Walter Matteini from Pisa, Italy
A deeply human and accessible, emotional, and athletic creation hinged on the quest to explore the human soul. Vulnerable, shedding the armor of technique, it asks us to accept one another for who and how we truly are.
THE EMPTY ROOM
U.S. Premiere from Ida Tadmor from Tel Aviv, Israel
Theatrical, humorous, and raw, this extremely physical duet blends innovative partnering and soul-wrenching contemporary movement. With the entire lifespan of a relationship as the canvas, the dancers capture the sorrows, the triumphs, and the moments in-between.
A no-charge parking pass is included for all Musco Center performances when you choose the print-at-home ticket option – it will be included in the e-ticket attachment emailed to you.
