Thompson Policy Institute presents
The 3rd Annual DisAbility Summit
Monday, May 7, 2018 at 9:00am - 12:00pm
For the 3rd Annual DisAbility Summit, we have a very exciting lineup of research presentations that will focus on our two main initiatives at the Thompson Policy Institute, inclusion of students with disabilities and transition services. We will be presenting our Excellence in Disability awards to a recipient who has shown tremendous dedication in working with individuals with disabilities.
Furthermore, we are excited to announce that our keynote speaker will be Dr. Mary A. Falvey, Emeriti Professor, Division of Special Education and Counseling, Charter College of Education at California State University, Los Angeles.
The goal of the Thompson Policy Institute (TPI) on Disability and Autism is to impact policy by reducing barriers to the full access to learning, living, and working, and the pursuit of a complete and quality life. To accomplish this goal, the TPI assesses, researches, and acts on the critical issues facing people with disabilities, their families and those individuals and agencies that share these same values. TPI outcomes are shared regularly throughout the year and summarized annually at the DisAbility Summit at Chapman University.
Spanish interpretation via listening devices and an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter will be available.
A sensory friendly room will be provided for those who may need a quiet space to think/watch the presentation.
If you are a professional and would like to request CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) as required by the BBS, please be sure to sign in as well as out at the check-in tables out front. Our office will e-mail your certificate within a week following the Summit. |
